Preschool

My name is Ms. Becca, and I am the Early Childhood Special Education Teacher here at Kohl. I’ve been part of the Kohl community since 2018, and I truly love the work I get to do each day. As a neuroaffirming educator, I’m passionate about inclusion and helping children understand that “we all need different things” to learn and thrive. I regularly teach and model that accessibility tools, mobility aids, and other supports are simply ways people meet their unique needs. I meet children exactly where they are developmentally, which is especially important in my mixed-age classroom. I’m a lifelong learner who is always refining my practice to better support my students. I also serve on the special education team, collaborating with wonderful service providers in a multidisciplinary way to meet each child’s individual needs. I hold two master’s degrees—one in Early Childhood Education and one in Early Childhood Special Education. These degrees, paired with my classroom experience, help me create a nurturing and supportive learning environment. Most of all, I love working with young children and feel honored to be part of their early learning journeys.

This is my 4th year as a preschool para, my 3rd year at Kohl, and I absolutely LOVE working with our littlest Colts😊.

I moved to Colorado from Japan 8 years ago. I grew up in London UK, and luckily have immersed myself in different cultures and become friends with people from all over the world since I was young. Travelling is one of my favorite things to do! Motherhood has made me slow down at that and I need to get back to it.

My other passion is to dance, which I have also been doing since I was little. I studied Art/dance education at university, then studied inclusive dance in the community as a Post grad study in the UK. My belief for diversity, inclusion and creativity is at my roots, and is the core of everything I do, my kids are living it with me too!

I live with my husband, son(10), daughter(4), and a corgi(5) who are all so loud and expressive… I love them so much! We are a Japanese speaking family, and I also teach Japanese. Come and say hi if you’d like to learn some Japanese!
