Kindergarten

Kohl's full day kindergarten program provides an opportunity for students to learn through play. For many students this may be a first introduction to a school environment. Our teachers place a big emphasis on social and emotional skills along with teaching the curriculum. Students are also exposed to art, music, technology, and physical education throughout the week. Biography:

My name is Caitlin and I am a Colorado native who loves my home state. In the summer, I enjoy camping with my family, hiking and capturing photographs of all things nature. A new skill I have picked up this summer has been woodworking. I’ve built a few birdhouses, bookshelves and repurposed stools for use in our classroom!

During the winter you’ll find me spending time in the library, at the movies, practicing my cooking skills, and playing board games with my boyfriend, Michael. A fun fact about me is that I attended schools in the Boulder Valley School District from kindergarten through high school. I am proud to represent BVSD and ecstatic to be teaching second grade here at Kohl.

I received a B.A. in Psychology and an endorsement in Elementary Education from the University of Colorado Boulder. Following graduation I worked as a special education para and continued classes to obtain an ESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) Certification. I was offered my first teaching position in 2014 so I packed up and moved out East. I taught full day Kindergarten in Green Valley Ranch for three years. We had a blast learning together and I knew that I wanted to continue my own education and decided it was time to apply for Grad School.

After being accepted to the University of Colorado at Denver, I moved back home to Louisville and began my journey to a Master's Degree in Literacy K-12 Education.
During this time I worked as a Kindergarten Enrichment Para and then moved into a Kindergarten Teacher role at Meadowlark School while working diligently to complete my Graduate Courses. I am excited to share that I received my Master’s Degree in May while supporting Kindergarten families online for fully remote learning in 2020-2021. I am excited and ready to be back in the classroom with students and cannot wait to meet and become partners in learning with the Kohl Community!
