Kohl's full day kindergarten program provides an opportunity for students to learn through play. For many students this may be a first introduction to a school environment. Our teachers place a big emphasis on social and emotional skills along with teaching the curriculum. Students are also exposed to art, music, technology, and physical education throughout the week. Biography:
Hello Kohl Colts! I am thrilled to be returning to Kohl this year! I have taught both kindergarten and first grade, I began teaching in 2018 and this will be my 3rd year teaching 1st grade here in BVSD. I began my teaching career in Jeffco public schools where I was honored to receive the Exemplary Performance Values Award in my second year. This recognition further fueled my passion for teaching and my commitment for providing the best for my students. I graduated from MSU Denver with a degree in Elementary Education, where I was able to spend part of my student teaching in Zurich Switzerland. I recently earned my master's degree in Literacy Education from CU Denver, along with my Reading Specialist endorsement.
I am passionate about early childhood education and deeply committed to my own growth and learning. My work is grounded in the belief that all children are capable learners, each bringing unique gifts to the classroom. I strive to cultivate an inclusive environment that integrates curiosity, play, and creativity into the learning process.
When I am not teaching, you can find me enjoying time with my family. We love spending our time outdoors, whether it's hiking, paddleboarding, or skiing. I also enjoy hot yoga, seeing live music, and cherishing moments with my close friends and extended family.
I have dedicated myself to making this my absolute best year of teaching yet. This year the children in my class will undoubtedly receive an amazing education filled with joy, critical thinking, and the support needed to bloom into their best self. Go COLTS!!!!
