Biography:

Hello there! This is my third year here at Kohl. I am going into my ninth year teaching. I was born and raised in a suburb outside of Chicago. I completed my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at the University of Illinois. I then moved to Maryland and taught second grade at a Title 1 school just outside Washington D.C. During this time I completed my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction focusing on Teacher Leadership at Concordia University. My approach to teaching includes ensuring students feel safe and supported within our classroom community, providing engaging and hands-on learning opportunities, and meeting students where they are at with tailored intervention and extension opportunities to promote continued success.

In my free time I enjoy getting outdoors, spending time with family and friends, climbing, backpacking, hiking, skiing, biking, photography, horseback riding, game nights, and occasionally some down time at home ;) I am excited for another phenomenal school year!

Biography:

Hello Kohl Community!

I am beyond honored to announce that I am starting my first year at Kohl Elementary! I am a second-year teacher, having graduated from CU Boulder with a Bachelors in Education and an endorsement in cultural and linguistic diversity in 2023. I worked as a third grade teacher at Eisenhower Elementary this past school year and loved every minute of it. I have known that I was meant to be a teacher ever since I was a kid, and I was convinced after I worked in an after-school program in high school, focusing on working with neurodiverse students. I eventually plan to specialize in working with neurodiverse learners.

My ultimate goal in teaching is creating strong relationships with students to ensure that they can come to class and enthusiastically learn in an environment with meaningful learning experiences and building a commitment to a growth mindset and lifelong learning.

I was raised in Colorado and Michigan, but I consider Colorado to be my true home. I love to travel, and I have been privileged enough to experience 12 different countries and engaged with so many amazing people many and beautiful sights. I have two sweet fur babies who I love and adore, Freya and Ticket. I also enjoy reading (mostly science fiction), cuddling with my cats, learning German, and spending time with my friends and loved ones.
