Biography:

I am so excited to be returning to first grade at Kohl!

I grew up in Boulder and have loved living in this beautiful state. I enjoy hiking, biking, morning walks, and quality time spent with my family. I am the second oldest of 5 kids. I always thought I came from a big family but my wife is one of 11! Safe to say that family gatherings are always a little crazy (like a first grade classroom can be).

Heads up! (figuratively and literally) I could very easily be the tallest first grade teacher in the district. Haha. :) I pride myself in my ability to grow in my social emotional wellness

and I hope to be able to support students in this area as well! I am looking forward to supporting students in all areas of their lives, not just academically. I believe learning and school can be exciting, fun and a safe place to be yourself!

When I’m not teaching, I love to spend time with my wife, Emily, and our two dogs, Chuck (dark brown) and Nugget (light brown)! I can’t wait for the school year to begin!

Biography:

My name is Andie Perez, and I am one of the first grade teachers here at Kohl. I am going into my seventh year of teaching and my sixth year in first grade. I am so very excited to be a Kohl Colt, and can’t wait to meet all of our wonderful students and their families.

I grew up in Colorado Springs and have always had a love for the outdoors. I attended undergrad at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. There, I played soccer, did a lot of camping and backpacking, and did even more skiing! After graduating with my BA in elementary education, I moved to the Front Range to begin my teaching career. In 2019, I received my Masters of Education in Reading, with an added endorsement as a reading specialist.

I live with my boyfriend, Daniel, in Boulder with our dog (Lola) and our two cats (Meeko and Jasper). We spent most of our summer at our family house in Maine doing all the things we love: being with our family, sailing, and eating lots of lobstah!

As a teacher, I have three loves: a love of learning, a love of learners, and a love of bringing the first two loves together. I can’t wait to start learning with all of you!
