Kohl Elementary is a John Irwin School of Excellence Award winner because our community and the Colorado Department of Education recognize the outstanding academic achievement of our students!
Kohl is a tuition-free neighborhood school that provides nearly 300 students with rigorous learning from kindergarten through 5th Grade. We also offer free and tuition-based preschool classes that are interactive and prepare students for academic success.
The Kohl team values the individuality of children, connections with families, and collaborative partnerships within our community. Our team also lives our mission: “Every Child, Every Day,” by providing engaging and relevant learning for all students who walk through our school doors. Our inclusive strategies serve students who are neurodivergent, talented, gifted or learning English as a second language. Students may also enjoy before- and after-school experiences with School Age Care, which is an inclusive, fee-based program that provides multiple learning activities led by skilled professionals.
The Kohl community, including our active and supportive parents, believes in developing the whole child intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally. We are all Kohl Colts, including students, parents, staff and community partners! We share the commitment to raising children who love to learn and who are valued, safe, and have what they need to grow and succeed.
Since 1961, Kohl has served multiple generations of families in Broomfield. On any given evening, you may find families enjoying our park-like environment and beautiful grassy fields. You may also see children playing on our playground, which was updated in 2024 thanks to voters who supported the last BVSD bond election.
